Laptop Computer System
With constant travel, BCIs biologists need a portable computer to record data while afield. The Dell Inspiron 7000 is a multimedia system that will assist them in everything from downloading temperature data in caves to presenting educational programs in classrooms. Donations to offset the cost of this system or a similar model would be much appreciated. ($3,399)
As an international source for bat information, BCI prints thousands of documents each month. The power of our message relies upon our ability to show bats in a good light. A color printer, such as the Epson Stylus Color 700 ($275), would allow for color photos and greatly enhance the visual impact of our literature.
1999 Corporate Directory
As BCIs conservation & education programs continue to grow, our need for corporate sponsorship increases. The National Directory of Corporate Giving, 5th Edition, published by the Foundation Center, is an unparalleled resource for grant seekers, with the latest information on nearly 3,000 giving programs. The 1999 softcover edition is $225.
Our sincere gratitude to the following members for their gifts: Dr. Kenneth Bochenek of Lafayette, IN, for an Image-Maker 2000 binding machine; Patricia Bright of Thousand Oaks, CA, for a copy of the Bryce 2 software program; Ruth Ann Striegel of Germany, for a contribution toward the purchase of Adobe graphic software; and John Bowles of San Marcos, TX, for a hand winch for the bat house project.
