Volunteer at BCI

Thank you for volunteering to help Bat Conservation International protect the world's bats and the habitats that depend on them. We currently have volunteer opportunities in Austin and San Antonio. If you live in another area, we will contact you as new opportunities occur.

We are seeking volunteers for:

  • Congress Avenue Bridge Docents. These volunteers will distribute information and answer questions for visitors at the bridge. Don't worry if you don't know much about bats - we'll provide training.
  • Bracken Bat Cave in San Antonio. Bracken Bat Cave is home to the world's largest bat colony with up to 20 million Mexican free-tailed bats. It sits on 697 acres of classic Hill Country landscape that is protected by Bat Conservation International. We need volunteers at various times throughout the year to help maintain trails, remove invasive trees, mow grass, etc. Scout groups working on conservation badges are more than welcome.

To volunteer, please fill out the form below and specify which project(s) you'd like to help with. And again, thank you for supporting BCI!
