Will my bat house need maintenance? A well built bat house will need minimal maintenance. Once a year check your bat house to make sure there are not gaps or cracks caused by deteriorating caulk or warped wood. Bats don't like leaky or drafty houses any more than you do! Caulk or repaint bat houses during the off season when bats are not present.
